Advanced Production Engineering Case Study
In our customer’s industry, weight, and precision are critical factors. When manufacturing parts from billet, it is essential to consider how material removal impacts the structure and precision of the component. Most machining operations lack the tools to accurately calculate and compensate for the effects.
During machining, material removal alters the geometric precision of the part, often causing deformation due to internal stresses. In this case, achieving the required perpendicularity between faces was particularly challenging. To ensure geometric tolerances were maintained, we integrated FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools into the machining process.
By leveraging advanced engineering techniques, we successfully maintained precision throughout the machining process, overcoming deformation challenges. At Megatech, this level of precision and problem-solving is standard practice in our daily operations.
